Escaping Your Attacker In Close Combat Training

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

Although it may be unlikely for you to be trained to just run away from an attacker, by far it’s the most prudent action of all. Sometimes you may want to consider running away especially in instances where in you are faced with a lot of attackers. Before you get attacked an escape route should be in mind as an option for you to be away from danger. Potential weapons around you may be visible like rocks or loose sticks that you can use in defending yourself while you flee as part of the learning you acquired in Close Combat Training. Running to a crowded area may lead them to give up. When there are people around, they will reconsider attacking you because there are potential witnesses. If an escape route is impossible on that situation, think of ways on how these attackers will lose interest on you. Assess your attacker if they may back down if you resist or show them that you cannot be put down easily and you can fight back.

There are situations that you may need to consider before engaging yourself in hand to hand combat. Yes you may have the knowledge or the skill to do it but if by any chance that you might have assessed your attacker incorrectly, and then you might be in big trouble. That is why for Captain Chris, running away from trouble is not that bad. You’ll never know if your attacker is armed with a knife or deadly weapon that will put your life in great danger.
